Making time to take care of our own well being is essential. If we don’t give this priority and instead rush through life taking care of other’s needs, we risk compromising our own health, both physically and emotionally. My view is that you are important, and your own needs do matter.
By taking care of you, you will then have more of yourself to give to others. Imagine yourself as a tea pot pouring out cups of tea all day; when the pot is empty, it (you) needs to be topped up, refilled, replenished, and recharged.

Swedish massage is a form of positive therapeutic touch which uses a firm but gentle pressure to soothe and relax. It involves the application of appropriate pressure on the soft tissues of the body using specific movements and techniques.
A Swedish treatment could be back neck and shoulders, hand /arm massage, or foot/leg massage.
The client will be covered with carefully arranged towels and only the area worked on will be exposed at that time. I use Songbird Massage Waxes which are a wonderful blend of beeswax and natural ingredients for a supreme massage experience which leaves your skin feeling soft and moisturised.

The first part of the treatment facilitates the release of stored tensions, of which the client may have been unaware, allowing him or her to ‘let go’ and completely relax.
The later part of the treatment is more stimulating allowing the client to return to work or the daily routine feeling refreshed.
The treatment comes to you, no need to remove clothing, no oil – no mess, can be fitted into a busy day and the benefits are relaxed muscle tension,relaxation,revitalisation and increased alertness.

Reiki is a simple non invasive healing system which gently triggers the body’s own healing abilities and improves the flow of life energy to bring mind body and spirit back into balance.
Potentially beneficial for virtually any condition, from insomnia to chronic back pain to emotional trauma, Reiki has no contra-indications and can safely combined with conventional medicine.
There is no need to remove clothing to receive treatment, which can be given using light touch, or without touching the body at all, and the most common experiences during treatment are deep relaxation, sensations of warmth, coolness or tingling,and even colours or images appearing.

Massage therapy and reiki healing is my third choice of career.
Initially I worked as Merchant Navy Deck Officer, when I travelled and saw a lot of the world. This is when I first became aware of the benefits of massage for stress reduction and relaxation. After weeks at sea my first call ashore was often for a massage.
I then became a mother to three lovely daughters and developed an interest in learning through play, and child development, which led to a career supporting families and staff in playgroups and toddler groups.
Now I hope to pass on to others the healing benefits I have personally gained from enjoying massage and reiki, and finally learning the benefits of taking time to nurture myself over the last few years.
